Hi everyone! My name is Dr. Julia Raz and I'm the owner of Golden West Organizing, a professional home organizing and unpacking company based out of Sherman Oaks, California and serving the Greater Los Angeles area and beyond. I'm thrilled to start this blog and share organizing and decluttering tips and tricks with you.
My passion for organizing stems from my deep interest in minimalism. In 2019, I visited a museum exhibit that inspired me on my journey to minimalism. From there, I decluttered more than 80% of my personal possessions and made a New Years resolution in 2021 to start my own business!
I earned my PhD in Communication from the University of Michigan, and have been a college educator for almost 13 years (I still teach part-time!). This background heavily informs my approach to organizing and how I developed my GWO brand and team culture.
Since starting my business, I have been featured in CNBC, The Minimalists Podcast, Business Insider, Redfin, and more.
Favorite space to organize? Kids rooms, home offices (I LOVE office supplies), and pantries
Organizing tip? The best way to get organized is to declutter. Always.
